I don’t want to give away spoilers, but you see the two kids grow up throughout the film. She’s very supportive and while still being stern when she needs to be, allows them to express who they are without judging. ![]() She moves them to the country so they have the choice to live life as a wolf or a human. It’s about a mom doing all she can for her two children and making sure they become who they want to be. The wolf aspect is prominent throughout the film, but you begin to think less of how this woman is raising wolf children and see the bigger picture of the film. As the movie goes on you begin to forget that what they have is different. However, you have to keep in mind that this movie is about a single mom raising two kids who are half wolf so normalcy is kind of gone. It’s not exactly a sex scene, but you see Hana and Ookami about to be intimate while Ookami is in his wolf form. ![]() The rest of the movie deals with Hana moving her family out to the country and focuses on how she raises them and the paths they both choose to take. She panics and starts searching for him only to find that he had gone into his wolf form to search for more food to take care of his growing family and was somehow killed. However, on the day that their son is born, Ookami goes missing and all Hana finds are groceries outside her door with Ookami’s wallet. She later finds out he’s a wolf man, but she still loves him and the two have a daughter and a son together. It begins when Hana is in college and she meets a young man named Ookami. It’s about a girl named Hana and the entire movie is narrated by her daughter, Yuki. The movie sets up a strange plot, but it’s able to draw you in right away. Hana, who lives alone in the house, recalls on how rearing her wolf children was like something out of a fairy tale, and she is proud of how well she reared them.A few weeks ago I decided to watch the movie, “Wolf Children Ame and Yuki” after hearing good things about it. Ame’s wolf howls reverberate throughout the woodland. Yuki leaves home the following year to enrol in a junior high school dorm. She accepts his goodbye after realising he has discovered his own way. Ame transforms into an adult wolf and runs into the mountains as she wakes up. ![]() Ame locates her and transports her to safety. Hana slips and falls unconscious while searching the wilderness for Ame. Souhei assures her that he already knows and that he would keep her secret. Yuki transforms into a wolf and tells him her secret. Yuki and Souhei are left alone after the other children are fetched up from school by their parents. A storm forms two years later, when Yuki is in school, and Ame flees into the forest to assist his dying fox teacher Hana pursues him. Yuki and Ame have a disagreement about whether they are human or wolf. Souhei tells them he was attacked by a wolf, absolving Yuki of responsibility, and the two become friends. Yuki changes into a wolf when pursuing her and mistakenly injures him, resulting in a meeting with his mother and teacher. Yuki’s fourth-grade class welcomes a new transfer student, Souhei, who notices something odd about her. Ame, on the other hand, is more interested in the forest and learns about life in the wild from an elderly fox. Yuki’s classmates initially find her weird, but she quickly develops friends. Hana agrees on the condition that Yuki keep her wolf nature hidden from the rest of the world. Yuki asks her mother to allow her to attend school with the other kids. She works tirelessly to restore a dilapidated home and provide for her family by growing their own crops.Īme nearly drowns in a river one winter day while attempting to pursue a kingfisher, but Yuki saves him, and Ame gains confidence. When social workers inquire about the children’s vaccination status, Hana relocates the family to the countryside, away from prying neighbours. ![]() Hana’s existence as a single mother is stressful Yuki and Ame alternate between human and wolf forms on a regular basis, and Hana must hide them from the outside world. Their father is slain shortly after while hunting for food for the children. Hana, a college student, falls in love with a werewolf and gives birth to two half-wolf children with him: Yuki, a girl, and Ame, a son, a year later. It premiered in the UK at the end of October 2013, and Manga Entertainment released a DVD and Deluxe Blu-ray/DVD edition on December 23, 2013. In North America, it was licenced by Funimation Entertainment and released on DVD and Blu-ray on November 23, 2013. Wolf Children had its global premiere on June 25, 2012, in Paris, and was released theatrically in Japan on July 21, 2012. Characters for the film were designed by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, who previously worked on Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water (1990) and Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995). Director Hosoda founded Studio Chizu to make the picture.
